Abstract
To start the tour we will pick you up from your hotel as long as it is located within the city of Cusco. If your accommodation is outside the city, don't forget to coordinate your pick-up with us in advance.
This package includes visits to archaeological sites and activities that will bring you closer to the local culture, all in the company of a specialized guide.
Itinerary
We will stop by your hotel to pick you up at approximately 8:00 a.m. Don't forget to have a decent breakfast before starting our adventure that will last almost 5 hours. We being by heading South of Cusco to enjoy the nature and little-known archaeological sites of this valley.
Our first stop will be at the Tipón terraces. This agricultural laboratory from the Inca period is still in operation. In addition, it is a working example of pre-Hispanic engineering since its irrigation system works perfectly to this day.
Later, we will discover one of the archaeological treasures of the South Valley of Cusco: Pikillaqta. This urban center was built by the Wari culture almost 700 years before the heyday of the Incas. It has innumerable constructions such as squares, food stores, houses, temples, as well as mysterious and long streets with buildings that climb up to 4 stories high.
Then, we will visit the beautiful and quiet town of Andahuaylillas, which is famous for its Catholic temple. It is known as “the Sistine Chapel of Cusco” due to the lavishness and beauty of its mural painting dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
On the way back to the city we will have the option of stopping at the picturesque town of Saylla that is known for its delicious fried pork ‘Chicharron” (which you can buy out of your choice).
We will arrive back to Cusco at approximately 3:00 p.m.
