Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 6:00 a.m. Then we will go to the province of Canas.

We will visit 4 famous lagoons near Cusco and the Piñipampa community, where we will visit a handicraft factory and a fish farm.

We will have breakfast at approximately 9:00 a.m. in the town of Yanaoca and then we will leave to visit the Q’eswachaka bridge where you will take part in a ceremony to give gratitude to Pachamama, or Mother Earth, performed by an Andean priest.

The term Q’eswachaka is a combination of two Quechua words. "Q'eswa" which means "braid" and "chaka" which means "bridge".

This bridge is special because it is built with the same ancestral knowledge that the Incas had. The materials used (a herb known as q'oya) and the technique has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 5 centuries. It measures 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide. It swings 15 meters above the river.

Annually, more than 1000 farmers from the communities of Winchiri, Ccolana, Quehue, Chaupibanda and Choccayhua are involved in maintaining the Q’eswachaka bridge through community work.

Take this opportunity to make new friends and learn about the local culture of Peru. Listen carefully, show respect, and act humbly.

We will enjoy lunch around 2:30 p.m. and to end the day, we will visit the natural cave of Carañahui before arriving back to the city of Cusco at 8:00 p.m.
